And Wineskin port is totally awful, my saves are getting corrupted and corrupted again (Now i have to kill the "Beast" for 2nd time on Hard ._. )
It happens on widows too, but more often in wine.
I played the PC version in my own homemade wineskin wrapper.
I had the same issue, with quests reappearing and have to redo them, I had to revert to an older save a few times.
When I was pretty far in my MBP went to repair and I replayed the game to the finish, and it happened in windows too, but only once.
CDProject has made a few changes to the "mac version", It's actually the gog.com version (found many traces of it in the registry), but something is changed as the PC version will not display health bars properly in wine.
The only thing that's a bit strange is that they use a very old wine version. 1.3.7, while the newest is 1.5.1 (latest 1.3 wine was 1.3.37).
It also use Wineskin 2.5.4 (2.5.5 beta 2 is out and quite a bit faster).
I'm pretty sure that with update to 2.5.5 and 1.5.x it would be quite a bit faster, but I haven't had time testing it yet.
Both Wine and Wineskin has the last year got quite a stability and performance upgrade and with the current pace I'm pretty sure it will be faster and better than Cider is now.
EA and rockstar is already releasing games wrapped with Cider as Mac games. As well as Warhammer ONline, League of Legends (but they terminated the project) and many more.
SOme might disagree about releasing games like this, but the work behind the mac version of The Witcher is done by people like code weavers and doh123 and not CDProject, and they only live on donations and everyone can use their work freely!
