Hi.

For about a month (ironically since the announcement that the OG HomePods get discontinued) I have had problems with the theater mode of my HomePods and my Appletv. This weeks RCs didn't improve the situation either.
Sometimes only one HomePod plays the audiosource or there is no sound at all. With disabled theatre mode the two speakers just run fine. I also considered whether the internet connection is to blame, but it is actually fast enough for the new mode, but it has no problems with 4K playback and most importantly: Theater Mode ran for 3 months without any problems in the same network. Another idea ist that it's maybe caused by changes to the framerate in tvOS 14.5 but I’m not sure.

Does anyone else had similar problems since a months? Does someone has another idea to fix it?

I have something where if I have the stereo pair defaulted to my Apple TV and add a third HomePod via AirPlay, then when I remove the third HomePod, I lose audio on the defaulted stereo pair. I fix this by turning theater mode off then on again. It’s really annoying but I’m not running any beta iOS software.

I can't use my HomePods to play anything else but the TV if they are assigned as default speakers now. If I turn it on and off in settings they will continue to play for a few seconds and then disconnect. If I tell Siri to play anything on them she says there is a problem with Apple Music. If I try to airplay to them or add them to existing playing homepods on the iPhone or Mac it says it can't connect :|
