Themes on OSX 10.8.2?

I was wondering if it's possible to change the menu bars on top "Finder, file, etc." to a different theme? I wanted a darker shade but before doing that i wanna be sure i'm able to have a program or something that i can revert back to the default menu bars if i dislike what i had put up. I'm using Candybar for the icons but i wanna change the menu colors too.

Seems like it's possible to get that through that little tutorial but i just want to be sure i'm able to revert back, is Time Machine the only way?

That actually looks perfect! Thanks! How about backing up the default menu bar? Is there an easy and good way on doing that or should i do Time Machine?

Reading through it, there seems to be a "Restore" folder with all the original menu bar that i'm suppose to back up? Correct me if i'm wrong.

obsidian menubar comes with a revert option (i've been using it for years).
it's IMPORTANT to remember to always revert to the default before running an OS update.

When you revert you just install the "Restore OS X Menu" correct? I'm liking the theme but wished it still kept the clock and battery percentage, etc. I did install White clock but it's somewhat not the same feeling.

i'm using istat menus, as i get a number of useful things from it...and can customize the clock (ie white).

my battery IS white; i thought that came with obsidian. you followed ALL the preferred settings?

and yes, just run the restore before running OS updates...

Obsidian looks absolutely amazing. I've been using it on my iMac for a while now. The black + black glass bezel of the iMac is beautiful.

i have ALWAYS had a black menubar on my macs...for over a decade (and thru various sources). obsidian is THE best way to do this now (and has been for a while). the developer is great, careful, responsible. black rules...

I did.. my battery is white but the percentage can't be so it's no big deal but i prefer the percent showing too.

Do you happen to have a black dock also? I'm looking for a glass dock like the stock Mountain Lion one but in black instead, i'm sure it's out there but i'm having a hard time finding it.. Also what do you or anyone use to change the dock since CandyBar isn't working with the dock on 10.8.2

Dock is not changeable as it was thru Lion (i was able to remove a few files from the dock, and it became a clear-glass reflective image...beautiful, really).

in ML, i use mirage, which removes the glass...

Is it ok to update without going back to the original menu bar for the current Java update for 10.8.2? It's only major updates that i should change the menu bar back correct?
