So I'm trying to theme ProTube and offline via iFile for the recently released theme called "Circle Theme" - which by the way is the best theme I've ever used!

Anyways, within the Circle Theme folder I have the following directories setup for ProTube and iFile:

ProTube: de.maxner.protube
iFile: eu.heinelt.ifile

Now within these folders the actual icons are named as followed:

ProTube: Icon@2x.png
iFile: iPhoneAppIcon@2x.png

Yet when I respring the icons aren't round like the rest of the icons/theme? What am I doing wrong here?

The only way I've managed to get the icons to change is by running 'fswipecache' after adding the relevant files/folders like you have (fswipecache is on Cydia)

May or may not work for you, let us know.

Neil.

Will download now and report back! Thank you sir!

Gave it a go and that didn't work either =\

Theming Icons

this works for me. create a folder name ProTube.app and iFile.app.

Protube: icon@2x.png (lowercase letters)
iFile: iPhoneAppIcon.png, iPhoneAppIcon@2x.png

Place newly created folder with images into var/stash/themes/xxxx.theme/folders
[ex. var/stash/themes/xxxx.theme/folders/ProTube.app (icon@2x.png image inside ProTube.app folder)]

Then a respring afterwards.
Settings > Winterboard > Select Themes. Uncheck and Recheck Theme > Respring.

Nice, let me give that a shot! Brb!

Ok that didn't work either but I think I finally figured out why. The icons I'm trying to add for these two apps are both set to the following size: 114x117 while the original icons that came with the theme are set to 114x117 - will this cause the issue?

for ifile.
go into Applications > iFile.app. Take out all of Icon-small.png (both lowercase and uppecase), Icon.png, and replace the old icon with the modified icon (iPhoneAppIcon.png, iPhoneAppIcon@2x.png).

for protube.
create a folder Protube.app inside var/stash/themes/xxxx.theme/folders/ProTube.app with the modified icon (icon@2x.png). or go to Applications > Protube.app and replace old icon@2x.png with the new one.

give that a shot.

I figure I'll throw this in here to keep the number of threads down.

I like to keep my home screen completely devoid of icons and have the dock clear so that I can actually see the wallpaper. But what I did on 5.1.1 was to have a clear icon for the music app and have that in the dock for easy access but just tapping in that area. Using a clear icon for the music app works when it's with the rest of the icons on the page, or in a folder. In the dock though it shows up as a dark, translucent square. Not an icon shadow since I have those turned off, but just a fairly dark, see-through square the size of the icon.

Any ideas how to fix this? For theming I just use Springtomize2 with icons set to 75% size, greyscale, and 50% opacity.

Solved

I had the same problem using the same iFile icon from the macthemes forum.
Turns out, that icon was 116x118 or something like that.
Tried lots of combinations of file names, but in the end resizing image to 118x120 and putting it in /Bundles/eu.heinelt.ifile/iPhoneAppIcon@2x.png worked!

Not sure why that should make a difference, but it did!

On a related note, TL24, how did you get your folder icons to display fewer apps?

I knew that had to be the issue but I thought there might be a work around, guess I'll have to resize it or can you post your resized icons?

As for the folders, download the Ayecon theme and you'll find a folder option under settings as shown here for 2x2:

Thanks. Shall take a look.

And sure, here.

Looks like the theme icons are 118x118, so maybe the issue is the icons need to be at least 118px in both dimensions?
I don't know, either way, the iFile icon works for me. I dont have protube, but it should still work.
