0.1% are Type 1: "This update is s***t!!! Apple sucks!!! I installed this 1 minute ago and now and my dog now has cancer, i have a headache, and my car's gas milage went to crap! Anyone who claims their phone works is a fanboy!!!"

0.1% are Type 2: "WOW!!! Everything is fixed!!! I installed this 1 minute ago and now I get 27 days of solid gaming, Safari loads pages before I even know I want to go to them, and I can now walk on water!!!! Anyone who claims this update didn't work can go buy a Droid Optimus Incredible Wave EVO 4G Copycat!"

99.8% are Type 3: My phone worked fine before the update. My phone works fine after the update and it seemed to fix what it said it would. Everyone else I know's phone worked before and works now. What's a "MacRumors Forum"?

That 3rd section should be divided into the people who live in reality and people who live in such delusion that whenever an Apple problem comes up they choose to blame the end user as the reason for why it happened.

Apple is probably one of the best products in the world at releasing well tested products that are amazing out of the box. But sometimes things dont go as planned and when people point that out then the usual defenders come out trying to pretend all is good. Its annoying because solutions cant emerge unless people can admit that there is a problem.

Then there are some of us that are type 4: true apple followers that get tired of MAJOR mistakes like death grip and batt drain right out of the gate after a big release. BTW, the new Job's bio discusses how the death drip happened, Jobs and Ive knew about it before the release.

And then type 5 I suppose that have had an iPhone and realize those "controversies" were total BS! There was never an antennae issue, nor a battery issue....my iPhone worked just fine.

Uhh. I would consider you sir a very prejudiced person if you make the generalization that all weed smokers think this way.

And while your statement about the bumpers is true, both "Antennagate" and "Batterygate"(Even thought people complained about this when the 3GS came out as well) were/are not a common thing among the entire population of iPhone users.

Enough of a problem that they ran out to fix both quickly....
Yeah, they were both huge problems....

You can keep your bong, just drop the Pom-poms

agree 100% ... I've never had a problem with any iphone before... only did issues and glitches arrive after updating to iOS 5... I still can't get wifi unless I'm right next to the router  .

Great Thread!!!

Too bad the percentage is the opposite in MacRumors.

BTW .... You forgot to mention the 0.0000000001% who claim Windows Phone 7 is better. :p

What the hell makes you think I'm a cheerleader dude? Get off your front porch and stop indulging in the PBR while listening to country music for awhile.

Look ma, I can make prejudiced generalizations too.

Under your bed.
Was talking to Rick Perry about this thread earlier, and he agrees with me entirely:

First, there are the people who have issues with the iPhone. Second, there are those who don't. Third, there are, uhhhhh....I can't remember. Oops!

When I had Windows products (never again btw), I always resisted updating itunes when a new version came out. Always seemed to cause problems and frustration trying to fix it.

Now I usually update fairly quickly. Yes, I've had some problems with ios5 like losing all of my contact's email addresses and a few phone numbers. I also know this company is better than any I've dealt with before about listening to the complaints and releasing a fix.

Actually yes, they did. The media jumped on a possible flaw rumor of an apple product and ran with it. Later tests showed it was totally bogus. Apple gave away the bumpers because it was easier to say, hey look these bumpers fix a nonexistent problem, then to say, your crazy there is no problem. The customer is always right, even when they are dead wrong!

As for battery consumption on iOS 5....well the only additional battery drain I felt was the first week of installing it, BECAUSE I WAS PLAYING WITH THE NEW FEATURES! Not because of an issue in the OS....as soon as I was used to it and using it regularly it went back to normal.

ANYBODY , that says others did not have any problem of some sort with the death grip or battery drain is a cheerleader, pure and simple. Perfectly OK to say you did not but nothing else. Period.

PS..Dont drink, have an MBA and retired off apple stock in my early 50's....how's that for a generalization?

well I personally never saw a phone that had antennae problems and I asked all my friends.....so while I have also never seen a Sasquatch I suppose it could exist.

You know just because you don't have an issue with your battery doesn't mean other people don't. I updated to 5.0.1 because my battery life is horrible and it hasn't fixed anything. Gonna give it about a week or so and if it doesn't get any better then I wil be going to Apple store to get a replacement.

Well then, you just confirmed the OP's numbers. You are the 0.1% that are Type 1.
