thats exactly what it should be, if you look in the book that came with your computer (page 5) it has a chart which shows you this. please read your book in future

That's not what it should be. It's supposed to be 80% of original after 300 cycles. For all you people not so good with math, the capacity now should be 4400. The 814 value they have puts it around 15% of original.

Have you tried calibrating the battery?

I have around 216 cycles (on an 18 month old machine) and still retain about 80%

Overcharging with the computer off supposedly contributes to this. If you keep your laptop on (even in sleep mode) it keeps the current moving through the battery, rather than gathering up. I've had my laptop for 9 months, I use it daily, and it retains a 95% charge.

However, please correct me if I'm wrong about the battery.

i've got the model number matched...not the serial number

If you start here: http://www.apple.com/support/exchange_repair/macbookpro.html

I imagine the one one the left will apply (since you've ruled out the link on the right)

From that:
For MacBook and MacBook Pro systems with Intel Core Duo processors, this program extends repair coverage on the battery for up to two years from the date of purchase of the computer.

Affected batteries will have one or more of the following symptoms:

...
Battery exhibits low charge capacity/runtime when using a fully charged battery with a battery cycle count (as shown in System Profiler) of less than 300.
...

Battery life

Coconut battery says I'm at 90% after 439 load cycles.

This is the battery that I received because of the recall, so it's about a year old.

how much actual battery life do you get??? could most likely be an error. recalibrate the battery.

last night i let the battery drain...then it went to sleep mode
this morning i turned i plugged it back in and let it charge...thats recalibration right??

here are the results:..so sad

Cool..

That's a Good Answer...

My Oldest battery is 225+ cycles (1 1/2 yrs.) and near 90% (88-93 typically) today... I usually "sleep" my MBP and Kill and Calibrate it every 4-6 weeks if I can... Treats me pretty good so far...
