General There should be way to set Spotify as default music player

The music controls in control center always defaults back to Apple Music, even though I've never opened the app. Just like setting a browser as the default one in MacOS, there should be a setting for default music player in iOS.

There are really no "default" apps other than various Apple built-in ones. That said, as I recall, the controls should typically correspond to the last app that they applied to (meaning if you used Spotify then that's really what they should correspond to).

But after a time though, it resets back to Apple Music even if I'm still logged into Spotify. At least it has the Apple Music icon.

More annoying if you have airpods since Siri won't search Spotify

I was having the same issue as OP.
BT always always connected to Music as the default.

I deleted all my song in Music and just like that, Spotify because the default app.
