I'd say IINA is great except it doesn't support spacial audio, why not? it's just a system API you implement isn't it?
MPV is just IINA but you are able to mess up the settings and make things worse
VLC does not even support HDR which is pathetic, it's also noticeably slow and laggy, just don't make a Mac version if it's going to be total garbage?

If we search for video player HDR on the app store, there's a couple that want up front payment, no way I'm gonna try them since they most likely don't work either.
Movist has a free trial so I tried it, no spacial audio, so no reason to use it over IINA
Front Row is a quicktime reskin that doesn't even play MKV so no idea why it even exists
Bunny is a subscription based video player and supports spacial audio, but it has wrong colors. HDR videos are too dark and SDR videos are too bright. Also instead of forward and back as the buttons beside play/pause, it weirdly has these "HD+" and "HD-" buttons that go through 720p,1080p,4k,5k,6k etc? No idea what they do except they change brightness slightly, they don't change the resolution in any way. It isn't expensive but I ain't paying money for a video player that can't even do the most basic thing which is play the file correctly.

There is one last challenger though, Optimus Player, it has HDR playback, correct colors, and spacial audio and it costs $5 so I bought it.
But it has a FATAL FLAW, for whatever reason, to open a file it often needs to like, read the ENTIRE FILE, which is probably not a problem for small local videos. But if you wanna open a big 100GB file on a NAS, oh boy.... It doesn't happen for every file, but some files it just won't open until it downloads the ENTIRE THING, so basically with this player some random files won't play, unless you want to wait 10 minutes for it to download.

and that's it, you want a video player that actually works and supports spacial audio? better pay up $100 for that Infuse, cuz nothing else works.

unbelievable situation, I mean spacial audio can't be that complicated can it? That Optimus Player seems to be made by one guy, he basically added supports for spacial audio as soon as it came out and never bothered to update it, yet basically nobody else can do it? How?
