I have my powerbook at Apple right now getting worked on and was informed that there is a hold on the repair because they had to order a part. The phone operator told me it was a thermal something. The operator had now idea what it was or what it was for, nor do I. Does anyone know what this would be and what does it do, I can figure out it is thermal related thank you in advance for not offering that as a suggestion.

Does anyone want to venture a guess as to what in the world they might be talking about?

I took it in because whenever I would pick it up even just the smallest bit, it would make the most horrible grinding noise I have ever heard in my life. It sounded like metal on metal and the whole harddrive started to grind to a halt, no joke.
