They must've done something. I am getting instantaneous play counts between my MacBook and my iPhone....didn't sync a damn thing for days and then it caught back up...and I just played a song on the phone and then looked at iTunes and the count jumped up. Let's see how long this lasts...

Or the demand has tapered off on the servers. I think many of the syncing and mirroring issues we were seeing early was due to the system getting absolutely blasted by a large number of users attempting to plug in huge libraries.

Also, I'm sure they will iron out the issues as we go along. In a month or two it will likely be pretty seamless.

I hope Patriot24 you are right.. I realy want this service to work but it's getting frustrating to wait out the clustermuck in the meantime... I do see Match making progress on my iTunes Library- 400 songs uploaded, 1100 to go~

And I thought Google Music was slow. It took a day on my slow 1.5mbps connection.

Did they fix the smart playlists on iOS as well by chance? Or does the Top 25 Most Played list still show thousands of tracks?

Mine shows 25 songs. My iToys are syncing well with already uploaded and matched data, but Match uploaded all my duplicates dang it!

Still waiting on the last 500 unmatched songs to upload. I should have been more forgiving of my immediate expectations though.. a lot of my unmatched tracks are one to two hour dj mixes.:p:D

Smart playlists still show the entire library for me. Kind of a pain in the ass having to convert to regular playlists all the time. Hope they fix it soon.

Mine hasn't updated since Day 2.

Smart playlists are definitely still broken.

Setting a limit doesn't work, and playlists can't refer to other playlists.

Both things apple absolutely has to fix, it would be a huge step back in functionality if they didn't.

I'm guessing that part of the reason they've said playlists can't refer to other playlists is because putting any non-iCloud song in a playlist automatically removes it from iCloud, so you could have a deep change of dependent playlists that could get broken very easily just by adding one song. I hope they'll eventually come up with some solution, but I understand why they've done what they have for now.

I assume that's at least part of it, but it seems like it shouldn't be that hard for them to work around.

There shouldn't be many non-cloud songs anyway, and if there are they could just have playlists not have those songs available, just ignore them. Or at least give users the ability to manually keep out bad files by excluding based on iCloud status. It really doesn't make sense to remove entire playlists from the cloud just because one or more songs aren't available. And even dumb playlists and smart playlists without nested other playlists can fail based on one song being added or changed.

They definitely need to fix it, and it shouldn't be that hard for them to get it right.

I just reenabled match on my iPad to check this out. My Recently Added playlist works now! And that seems to be the extent of the good news from what I can tell.

-Play Counts still aren't coming across from iPad
-Smart Playlist limits are still broken (Top 25 Most Played has over 4K songs)
-Album Art is still missing randomly
-Sorting is still broke (to be fair this is broke even with normal sync)

I don't get how a company that gained a good deal of its popularity from an mp3 player can get the music portion of their devices so wrong. Why the hell can't you sort or search inside playlists on iOS devices? They can edit photos and movies, but a simple sort is too much work? Matching the sort from iTunes is even too tough? It's not even like its just sorted a different way, it doesn't appear to be sorted at all. Not alphabetical (by artist/album/title) or chronologically. It seems the default sort is "by three year old".

I don't get it. The prospect of a unified library, with synchronized ratings, play counts, and playlists (particularly smart playlists), had me considering switching to an iPhone. After this fiasco, I'm not so sure. :(

Hoping this happens as well, the product has so much potential.

A few days later and my Library has settled down into normal existence on the iCloud with Match.. time to boot up my ol' G4 mini and turn on Match there, since my new mini has no cd burner! If this works and my entire library gets downloaded to the G4 as 256kbps, I will have already gotten my money's worth out of match for this year.;):p
