I just reenabled match on my iPad to check this out. My Recently Added playlist works now! And that seems to be the extent of the good news from what I can tell.
-Play Counts still aren't coming across from iPad
-Smart Playlist limits are still broken (Top 25 Most Played has over 4K songs)
-Album Art is still missing randomly
-Sorting is still broke (to be fair this is broke even with normal sync)
I don't get how a company that gained a good deal of its popularity from an mp3 player can get the music portion of their devices so wrong. Why the hell can't you sort or search inside playlists on iOS devices? They can edit photos and movies, but a simple sort is too much work? Matching the sort from iTunes is even too tough? It's not even like its just sorted a different way, it doesn't appear to be sorted at all. Not alphabetical (by artist/album/title) or chronologically. It seems the default sort is "by three year old".
I don't get it. The prospect of a unified library, with synchronized ratings, play counts, and playlists (particularly smart playlists), had me considering switching to an iPhone. After this fiasco, I'm not so sure.
