What's the current sp on using 'thin Sims' (aka Turbo Sims, etc).

I understand they worked ok for short periods, but then needed 'reactivation' ?
from time to time?

Have heard nothing recently about these, would they be suitable for someone visiting abroad for a few months at a time, enabling the use of 'local'sims to avoid roaming charges ?

These things can be picked up for less than $5

Have 3gs running 3.1

They worked so-so, more like an emergency fix if you happened to lay trapped under a rampaged lorry with both legs broken to splinters and had an iPhone with FW 2.2.x

I remember things like this being said in the past, have things changed?

Have they been updated ?

Anybody tried one recently ?
