Text messages are showing peoples phone numbers instead of names

On my call history a couple of people have their names for caller ID but the majority of the caller ID is phone numbers (numbers that are in my contact lost with names attached to them)

While I was on the line with someone I received another call. Now when I was on ATT I had the option to end the call and answer the other line. Not sure if this is an iOS5 issue, if its standard VZW, or what but the only options I have now are Ignore Call, Hold Call and Answer, and End Call.

Anyone else have the same issues? Any fixes?

iPhone 4s fwiw.

Welcome to Verizon. Here's other differences: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4515

About your first question, that seems just weird... How did you transfer numbers over to your new phone? Restore from backup?

CDMA networks have different multi-call management options as compared with GSM networks. The multi-call options for Verizon are fewer than for AT&T. Not much that can be done.

As for all the other issues, it must be something with how your contacts in your phone are set up. I'm on VZW and incoming calls/emails/texts are exactly as I've set them up in Contacts. Unknown calls or texts come in as their phone number or whatever other caller ID info is provided by the originating service.

Transferes from the cloud. Came from ATT.

----------

I just figured it out. Heres the fix.

ATT enters the phone numbers different. +1 (xxx) xxx-xxxx

I went in and switched it xxxxxxxxxx and now the names are showing up. Now I have to go through and fix the ones entered the ATT way. Weird

----------

Upon even further review here is what I am noticing.

When I was on ATT at times I would enter a contact and other times I would save the number when they called or texted me. The numbers that I saved from the calls or text (non manual entry) ported over to where the VZW version would not link the number to the name. WEIRD.

Lol. Now im all confused. Just changed all my numbers to the vzw "version" and my bro who is on att texted me and it came up with his number and not name. So I edited his contact info with the att version and his name is now showing up.... Whats a going on here.
