Hi all,

during next weekend I'll change my system disk and I'll reinstall Mojave on my Mac Pro 5.1 on a new SSD.

Which is your personal "steps" (tweaks / settings) you follow during a new installation before installing all your Apps ?

Cheers

here are a few I could think of

- enable right click for trackpad, enable all multi touch gestures
- enable CTRL-scroll zoom in Accessibility
- enable remote login SSH
- enable file sharing
- set proper hostname in Sharing
- set all finder windows to sort by name / stay organized
- set finder sidebar icon size to small
- set titlebar double click to minimize
- set finder search default to "Search this folder"
- set Finder to show mounted discs on the desktop
- set Finder to show "Computer" in sidebar
- set desktop icons to Text on the Right with Info on
- increase screen lock and screensaver timeouts
- set Hot Corners for instant screen sleep/lock
- install Xcode command line tools
- install brew
- configure LaunchPad to show only useful apps and use as Dock launcher via right-click
- turn on favicon in tabs in Safari
- enable Developer mode in Safari
- install all "user" apps (that don't have an installer) into ~/Applications and add folder to Dock

A lot of the above, plus uninstall (remove) all the junk stuff Apple would like us to believe we can't live without such as...
Chess
Dashboard
FaceTime
iBooks
Messages
Mission Control
Photo Booth
Photos
Siri
Stickies
