My phone is unlocked & jailbroken. The battery has been fine up until putting Installous on there and installing two programs (flame me).

I noticed that when I charge it via laptop, it stayed at 20% while the back got really hot.
I put it on the wall charger at 4AM this morning, by 10AM, it was only at about 90%, with the back still being hot.

I tried rebooting, uninstalling Installous and rebooting again.

Now, with the battery at 90%, I went and saw transformers, and after the movie, 1/3 of the battery was already drained. After lunch, it was at 50%.

Also, when scrolling through the music library, it seems jumpy.

So, is it a battery or it is just reading it wrong?

sounds broken. the battery does get warm when charging but if your in a normal temp room you shouldnt notice it... and the battery should charge from 10% to 90% in 4 hours max

go apple store

This didn't happen until I put Installous on there though.

Two more things:

1. You know when you put your phone close to a TV, and when recieve signals or something it makes like a beeping or clicking noise through the TV? It's doing it a lot now.

2. It's been plugged into my laptop for awhile and it doesnt seem to be charging

Sounds to me like the phone is running something in the background that's using the processor a lot.

It'd get hot because it's busy, the battery would drain quickly because the phone is working hard, and it'd take longer to charge from the mains as the juice is being pulled out of the battery as it's charging. If the power being taken from the battery is close to the power being given when charging over USB, then it'd take forever to charge.

Obviously try turning it off and on again, that'll stop all background processes leaving you with only the ones that start on power-up. If it's still doing it after a reboot, then install an app that shows what processes are doing what and see if that gives you a clue. I'm afraid I don't know what if any programs are available for this.

I have limited knowledge with Jailbreaking, but from my experience the above would account for the symptoms you describe. Hopefully someone can provide more info based on this or totally debunk me!

I found out that my Push was on for email (which I never use, nor had I gotten any notifications so I didnt know it was on).

I made this post@4:30PM today after charging it to 100%, and with everything off, and listening to music for about 2 hours, its 7:14PM and my battery seems well in the 90% area, so maybe that was it.
