Basically...do you guys think there will be no updates to the iPad OS, feature wise, until the Fall? Maybe just some "fixes" updates?

I assume it will be minor fixes until the major 4.0 update. Apple wouldn't make significant changes to the 3.x tree with the 4.x branch under active development.

We could see both 3.x.x and 3.x updates as well that could include some basic feature additions that's fast and simple for Apple to add.

Multitasking is a must. This isnt an iphone, where you dont want to do much at one time on it. With the bigger screen, more features are needed. It has me looking at the HP slate, even though the battery will be half the ipad. At least i can use it look a laptop.

If you want a laptop, than get an HP Slate or a netbook or CULV laptops. There are plenty of options out there. People who wants iPad aren't looking for a laptop, it's not a laptop replacement, no matter how you look at it.

I sure hope apple is working on a wifi patch, my signal goes up and down all the time

Battery probably wont be a big concern on the slate as most other devices besides Apples have replaceable batteries :D
