Any way you slice it, those GPU offer massive performance at a massive price. Once that potential gets translated into real world GO for non video uses, this new platform will take off.

They try to match the base Mac Pro, which uses a $300 CPU and use a $1,235 priced 6-core that Apple aren't even using because it makes no sense to buy unless you need L3 cache and then say Apple win because they were $1,000 cheaper? WTF?

They also try to match the top of the line model, in case you missed it. That is what got me knocking around on their site.

I saw it, it was all over reddit. I take issue with all these comparisons that use W9000s to compare to two D700s when they aren't the same graphics cards.

The Mac Pro isn't a good deal because some PC with similar specifications costs more or the same, it's a good deal if it lets you run OS X and be more productive than on the other Macs or PCs and that productivity is worth the difference.
