Currently using a 12inch 1ghz G4 powerbook with 256mb ram + 512mb stick, 60 gb hd, airport card, 32 mb nvidia vid card. thinkin about sellin it and usin the money towards another mac... possibly current or future intel model 12 inch ibook or settling with a mac mini.... anyhow ... what is the value of my powerbook on the market? its about 2 years old and the battery lasts about 30 minutes with airport on many apps on and about 1 hour juss using word processor and half dimness.

Thanks

I'd say about $850 U.S. max. considering a refurb 1.5GHz 12" PB with combo drive goes for $1099 from Apple

No way it's worth $850. I have the same 12" PB except I have a 40 GB harddrive and 1.25GB of total RAM, airport card, etc, and it sells for around $700 AUD on eBay, which is around $600 US, I think. The market may be different in the US, but I doubt you could get more considering the fact that a much faster iBook only costs $999.

I don't know. It might be a market thing, but a similarly spec'ed 12" PB just sold on eBay for $790. It only had a 40GB HDD vs. Cheap-Chopstix's 60GB HDD, but that's still a lot more than $600 U.S.

Okay, $850 might be a bit high. Maybe $750-$800 max. There are some crazy people on eBay.

I'm in the same situation atm. It's really difficult to know what one should expect to sell their computer for - especially on something like eBay. I would agree with Abstract, the around $800 is the mark.
