Thinking about getting a iPad 10.5 the new will be out soon.

I had all kinds of iPads in the past, my last one was the 1 gen 12.9 pro, I had to sell all my Apple products and other things I had. Now I have my iPhone X and Macbook Pro Retina and I know its a matter of time before I add a iPad Pro.

I have seen some very good deals for the 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 and its a very nice device, I really don't care to have the 12.9 iPad anymore its just to big and thats what I have my Macbook Pro for.

I think the 2018 iPad Pro will more than likely have the all screen and just face ID plus a new version of the A11 Bionic chipset or A12.

So its save money or get the latest and greatest and well all know how well the iPad with time.

Within hours of Tim Cook unveiling the updated Pro countless of near-new condition 10.5 models will be dumped on eBay at stupid prices.

Honestly, if I had a fairly new MacBook Pro to do my heavy lifting, I’d probably just get the regular 9.7” iPad. Unless you plan to get a keyboard and/or Apple Pencil, there’s not really enough advantage of the Pro over the regular one if you are just using it for content consumption.

I have the 10.5, but it’s my main computer and I don’t have a PC or Mac, so the extra speed and memory is needed for certain tasks. If I was only watching video, browsing the web, and reading email, the 9.7 would be just fine.

I have a few computers and tablets I'm just a fan of them all, I have a rMBP 15 and the iPhone X, so I might not need the the new one, I might just wait for the new to drop and get the 10.5 for cheap.

Depends if you prefer a home button or no home button. The 10.5 is a great device, it became my only computer aside from my iPhone in 2017. I don't see myself moving back to the desktop paradigm anytime soon.

Well, could be June at WWDC, could be in the latter half of the year, there's even precedent it might not happen until next year. I guess really it depends on if you'd rather 'have it now' or wait up to a year (though odds are it will be less, and could be as soon as 3 months) for a redesigned bezelless 11" model. I wouldn't wait for a spec upgrade of the current models, they are already insanely overpowered for what you can do with them.

If you have adjusted and like it on the X, I think it will be similar/better on the iPad. You can't go wrong with the 10.5 either though.

The home button doesn't bother me. It's quicker than a four finger swipe. Furthermore my 19 month old daughter loves using the button for returning to the homepage.

It's a keeper.

No, the page simply hasn't been updated yet. The only new iPad is the A10 with Pencil support.

Why would there be a “New” tag for iPad Pro then? The new iPad announced is not a Pro.

May just be an error on Apple’s part, or they may just update the internals on the Pro and call it a day.

Only the back end (Store) has been taken down.

The product pages haven't been updated yet. It still shows the iPad (2017) for $329. And I don't think it would make sense to announce new iPad Pro without a live stream at an educational event.

It wasn't a mistake, you were simply looking at the old page while it was being updated. The "New" label has been on the iPad Pro since June 2017 when Apple launched the 10.5" and 12.9" iPad Pro. The label now moves to the iPad (2018).

This New iPad is very out of date to be called New, even if there main goal is for kids.

I didn’t mean to insult or anything.

I just thought it was funny you essentially say a mobile OS is not worth full price, but yet you own several devices that have an OS that’s comparable to iOS. It’s not like ChromeOS is as useful as macOS or Windows.

Different devices for different use cases I guess. That’s fine, I applaud the fact that you use so many different brands!
