Hey!
I'm thinking about getting a new phone that's not a $1000. I currently use iPhone 12 mini but it has an awful battery life and only 64GB of storage.
I'm either thinking of getting iPhone 15 or some Android phone. In the perfect world I'd like to get Sony Xperia, because I've had it in the past and it was just perfect. Everything about my phone was just perfect. I even liked Sony's built in apps and it was so nice. The issue with Sony is that they drop the support on their phones so fast and they're still selling phones that wont be getting Android 15. A friend of mine has Samsung Galaxy S23, but she said that the battery life is awful and the issue is that I already have AirPods, Mac, iPad and an Apple Watch SE (1st gen. I don't even think about upgrading it. I'd be happy even with Apple Watch Series 3) and it's not compatible with Android phones.

The issue I mainly have with Android watches is that when you answer a call it puts it on the loud speaker and everybody can hear you and will stare at you. Trust me, I've been through this 5 years ago and I kind of died of embarrassment.

I'm not in a rush. I want to get a new phone in January, but there are too many choices out there and iPhone 16 will have Apple intelligence, but not in the EU as far as I understand and it's over $1000 at the moment.

The issue is I don't know what phone to get. There are so many choices out there and cheap Android phones are still quite bad after some time.

I rocked an S23 base model for 6 months and never had battery concerns.
The 12 mini was probably Apple's worst phone for battery. So anything you get will be an improvement.
You seem to want to stay in the Apple Watch world and are talking yourself into another iPhone, so just keep an eye out for sales. Can't go wrong with a base 16, but some retailers might be clearing out 15 Pros right now at a good price too.

Apple discontinuing the 15 Pro and Pro Max, in addition to the 14 Pro and Pro Max before it, is a joke. If you can find a discounted 15 Pro after the official release of the 16 series that may be the best way to go. Also keep an eye on Apple certified refurbished down the road once 15 Pros are added.
