iPhone Thinking about jailbreaking iPhone

First of all, what OS are you running?
There's a lot of tweaks out there. I would recommend checking out iDownloadBlog.

If you are on 6.1.3, you're too late. That update breaks the Evasi0n jailbreak. But if you are on 6.1.2 or earlier then you're good.
I jailbroke specifically for f.lux which is a tweak that reduces the blue light of your iPhone (and thus glare) over time. It gives your iPhone a softer, warmer screen at night that makes it much easier to use on the eyes.
Others that people like: BiteSMS, Callbar, Auxo, Barrel, Zephyr, Dashboard X, Intelliscreen X, LockInfo, Forecast, etc, etc.
It may be easier to just let us know what it is you want to do.

Depends if your someone who wants to tweak their phone into oblivion or whether you just want a few useful tweaks. I prefer just the useful tweaks that make my phone more efficient.
These are the tweaks I have installed.
SwipeAway (Closes all open apps by swiping)
f.lux (Changes screen temperature according to the time of day)
WinterBoard (Set different themes and make some UI changes)
AdBlocker (Block ads in Safari)
iFile (Browse iPhone file system)
NCSettings (Add useful toggles to Notification Centre)

google absinthe jailbreak i'm sure you'll find sites that still have the file available for download.
I'm thinking of JBing too on my 4S as I'm getting bored of iOS and starting to get tempted with android. I'm on 6.0.1 and will try Evasion when I get home.

There's no untethered jailbreak for 5.1, I believe there's a tethered jailbreak ( but who wants that?) you're stuck with 5.1 or 6.1.3
If you don't mind upgrading to iOS 6, then you can upgrade to 6.1.2 and then JB with evasi0n. You can find a 6.1.2 IPSW for your iDevice at iClarified. Have fun.
You can only upgrade to 6.1.3, as Apple is not signing 6.1.2 anymore
OP, you can JB 5.1, but it will be a tethered JB. Read here for details

And theres a lot of us current jail-breakers treading on egg shells when downloading new tweaks too in view of no iOS 6.1.2 to fall back on !
