So I'm currently using an iPhone 5 and it's jailbroken so I got it to do what I want and look like I want. But after using my friends S4 I was just amazed by the screen and how smooth it was. I had the original Galaxy S for a few months and I liked it but had to sell it for some reason... I think the android version back the was 2.x iirc.

So now I'm thinking about trading my iPhone for a S4. I've read around the net and some reviews that the phone is pretty bloated with samsungs apps and I defo don't have any use for most of them, so rooting should help me get rid of those? Has rooting been made easy these days?

I have always liked to customize stuff that I have so android would be perfect for that lol

So my main concern is battery life compared to my iPhone. I know the screen is big and uses more battery, but how much onscreen time I'm looking at when I mainly use whatsapp, browse net and use some other news apps?

Are there like any faqs or guides on android these days because I know things have changed a lot since I had my S? Or you guys could post me some tips and tricks etc and convince me to join the dark side xd

Sorry about my English, it's not my native language. And please, I don't want any "there are hundreds of these kinds of topics" comments.

I think the iP5 is worth more than an S4, particularly if it's JB'n... I personally, while dislike Apple's reluctance to innovate, prefer my JB'n iPhone 5 to any Android phone. After all, I do my Web browsing on my rMini so I don't need a large screen. However, I do need stuff like skype / phone call recording. The former is impossible on Android and the latter is model-specific.

Can you trade your iP5 for a LG G2? I think it'd be a far better deal in every respect.

If you think you want a Galaxy device wait til next week for the S5 if you can. IF you are set on the S4 check out Swappa they are selling for around $340 right now.

I'd agree with this.

I've got the S4 and yes it is good, but the S5 is a definite jump up, especially the camera (which is amazing).

Definitely the camera. Also, you'd be gaining the water/dust resistance, slightly bigger screen, a little bit more onboard storage as well.

Well if I want to I have a offer to trade my 5 for someone's S4 plus some cash from him, I'm still not sure if I want to take the risk of not liking android or the phone being too big for my liking.... I'm not the biggest guy and wear pretty tight jeans and the phone usually stays in my right front pocket and sometimes my iPhone is hard to get in and out of there lol

Oh the struggle is real, I want to do this trade but at the same time I don't..

If you can't get an iPhone out of your front pocket, I would not get a larger phone.

listen man, you only have one life to live and life is about trying new things.

Sell your iphone and get a Galaxy S5 or Nexus 5. If you don't like it, there will be at least three dozen people willing to buy it from you.

Make sure you learn to use all of Google's stuff. Google stuff is the bees knees.

I went from an iPhone 5s to a nexus 5 for about 6 months and just recently came back to the 5s. Android was fun for a while but ultimately I just like iOS the best out of all of the current OS's that are out. I will say that I sold my 32GB nexus 5 for 380 after using it for nearly 6 months so it seems to be holding its value pretty well.
