Right now I have the google g1 phone. I'm thinking about selling it and switching to the iphone. After having the ipod touch I got for free when I bought my new imac [college discount] I discovered the touch screen is much more responsive than the google g1 touch screen. I placed an ad to sell it on craigslist and already have several people who will buy it. So I called my local apple store to make sure the 3G S 16gb iphone price was 199$. To my surprise he said it was 499$ without at&t activation. I'm not switching from t-mobile, my plan was to learn how to unlock the phone. My question is where can I buy the phone at that price or near it without the contract? Or is it not possible? It would only cost me about 50$ more once I sold my google phone, but if it's 499$ then I'm not going to switch. Also is it hard to unlock the phone for t-mobile? I did some research doesn't seem like rocket science. And I'm pretty sure the places that say they will unlock your iphone for you is a rip off right? Because you can do it yourself? I would appreciate your help. Thanks, JFD.
In the meantime while I wait for a response I'll be searching google to try and answer my questions.
