I got a 2tb wd FireWire 800 external that I'd like to use n i have a 500gb wd usb2 that I'd Ike to have connected to a Mac 24.7 so I was thinking. A mini would be nice because i had. A. MacBook pro 2010 2.4 ghz 13 inch that i gave to my sister becz her mbp got stolen at college.

Before i used to just have that mbp hooked upto both drives n it was legit but since I don't have that mbp nemore and I need a Mac to use FireWire so I was thinking Mac mini

1.Should i wait for mbp refresh or Mac mini refresh?
2.How much Better is i3 n when cani expext it in mbp 13. Or Mac mini. Main thing I'm lookin to do is rip DVDs via ripit n handbrake.
3. will the Mac mini be bake ti handle making mp4 out of blu Ray if I get a external?

4.Should i just go get the mac mini tmrw.

4.Also it's my dads fiftieth soon should I get him a 32gb iPod touch to hold him ove until verizon iPhone...his8gb iPod touch is shot ever since ios 4 horrible battery life.

What should i do?

Just got it yesterday for 650 at apple store with educational discount.

Ordered 2x2gb 4gb ram kit from crucial for 75. Should I have gone with 8gb kit for 140?

Got a 23 inch hp monitor for 200 from walmart hp s2331. It's ok but can ne one recommend a legit 23 or 24 inch monitor. I want something that has Good color reproduction n ips technology preferably.

I'm just using the mini as a server pretty much. I have a fw external with all my movies and I have a 500gb USB external to use as a time machine. All shared across the network using the mini. I like being able to run it 24.7 n not worry about electricity usage.

my opinion...would get the 4gb one chip alone (giving you 4 + 1gb), then get another 4gb if need later. (copy & paste entire link below)

and wal-mart? too destructive to other businesses in any area they reside. never shop there. low price isn't always my goal. this monitor appeals to me...
