Hello, I recently had an opportunity to buy a MacBook Pro 2017 from a friend that wanted to buy a newer Mac. I have been using it for 2 weeks or so and I kind of like the Touch Bar but this Mac doesn't have one. I looked up online and found top cases with a Touch Bar for sale. I wanted to find out if it is even possible to just swap the top cases or would I need some hardwere updates as well and if such a thing would work at all.

It either comes with the touchbar, or it doesn't.

You ARE NOT going to upgrade a non-touchbar model to touch bar.

I wouldn't worry about it -- the touchbar is nothing special, anyway.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Thank you for your help. :)
