So I have a older 2016 iPad Pro that I got from AT&T, paid off and everything, but I was looking on AT&T's website and they don't seem to have any of the new 2018 iPad Pro's in stock in store, is that usual? or Unusual? Also does Apple do next payments on a AT&T iPad Pro? I know they do for the iPhone's, but not sure for iPad's, any help is greatly appreciated.

My main thing is, that I prefer to buy it in person, as I know they are prone to bending, and some come already bent in the box, so if it's bent they should just replace it in store, or maybe I'm wrong on that, since Apple claims bending is normal, even though it really shouldn't happen.

I'm looking at the 1TB Space Grey, also any suggestions on a good durable case, so it doesn't bend?

I’ve looked into this as well. New iPad Pros are not available yet, for them to sell in AT&T/carrier stores, yet. So, yes that’s usual. In the past, I think I’ve seen not until 6 months into launch, to be available in stores. And you can not do ‘add-a-lines’ for an iPad in an apple stores because that requires apple to have more access into your carriers account. Apple stores can only do the ‘upgrade’ portion/option. I just asked them all this 2 weeks ago in an apple store while ‘upgrading’ to the Max.

I maybe opting out the new iPad’s Pros bc of the bending and go for the new MacBook Air’s. Pretty much dang near the same price, size and keyboard when done, and get/have MacOS, mouse support, etc. I’m having a hard time justifying the price after adding the keyboard and pencil on top of choosing which size screen and gb iPad. I could drop the pencil out of my equation. Currently, not using it while it’s in my laptop bag, haha.
Whelp, good luck.

It’s pretty pointless to buy iPad late at att store if u have apple store within driving distance.

Unless there is some real promo going on with att lte iPad. I would just buy from Apple store. Easy return/exchange policy.

Att next also charges a $40? “Att next fee” in addition to paying full price for lte iPad Pro.

I have yet to see any iPad Pro lte models every on promo with att. They had budget iPad 9.7 lte promo $99 (normally $459) but only if u buy new iPhone on att next.

Again. In that case u would incur ($40 x 2 att next upgrade fees!). So $80 in att next fee for 2 devices for a small savings. Just stupid to do att next with iPad lte if no promos unless u are really hard up on money and can’t pay for it outright.

I would never buy an iPad Pro from AT&T. I don't think they do it anymore, but with the last gen they would lock your embedded, unremovable SIM to AT&T permanently. I don't think they can do it with the eSIM on the 2018s but I wouldn't want to take that gamble.

And if it is bent, ATT WILL make you go to apple. They won’t exchange it.

I’ve never understood why anyone buys devices for apple through the carriers. They always force you to apple for support and apple will take better care of you if it was bought through them anyways.

There’s a distinct separation in my mind between carriers and hardware manufacturers. You buy each ones products from each respective party. You don’t call apple if your cellular connection has issues or ask for a credit. And you can’t go to the carrier and expect proper service on the hardware either.

Recommend NOT buying at a carrier store if you can get to an Apple Store. Apple store can handle better, with more inventory, better customer service, easier returns.

It won’t be bent, the 1tb version is nice though. I’d personally buy one new unopened on eBay. You’ll save a lot. I’ve seen the 11” 1TB go for $1,175 new unopened, and you can still add apple care to it.

Every cellular iPad Pro 3rd gen is shaped the exact same. I’ve seen around 7 of them in person. Don’t worry about getting a bent iPad.

Sometimes it’s just more economical to do so at the time of purchase. Just depends... I saved $250 getting my gen 2 12.9 from Verizon last year. No regrets doing so.

Agree on the other points though; I had no preconceived notions that I’d be going to Verizon for tech support for the tablet itself.

Thanks everyone went with 12.9 inch SG 1TB through att will be here Monday apparently, had to do through att as I don’t have the cash to buy outright

I’ve gotten all my LTE pads through AT&T; zero issues, and never had a problem unlocking any (I’ve sold almost every one as I’ve upgraded, with the exception of a couple I passed on to grandkids). Where I live I have to have LTE, as AT&T data is my only option for internet service. Actually, we have satellite options also, but that’s a bigger joke than AT&T data.

When I ordered my 11” pro a few weeks ago, the delivery date was showing about a week out, but I received it the very next day.

You will love it. I went with the 2018 12.9 SG 1tb as well. I knew the 1tb would be a bit overkill however knowing that I have it will make me think more about upgrading anytime soon.

Got it today, love it so far, now need to save up for the new Apple Pencil and maybe a Keyboard case. Definitely happy with my purchase, goes nicely with my SG XS Max 512GB.

Enjoy it! Hope you got the regular cover folio though for the time. Kinda spendy not to protect it

Yeah I got a folio cover/case for it in the mean time, keeping it nice and protected is a major priority, also got AppleCare for it, so I'm covered. Great device, gonna have to try out some games on it, might buy NBA 2k19 for it to see how well it runs, I know Apple compares the GPU/CPU to a XB1 S.
