So my laptop broke so I've been looking at a Mac Mini for xmas. I have an Acer monitor I can hook up to it. Only thing is do I buy one before or after xmas? Anyone know if the price is likely to drop anytime soon or if Apple will have a January sale? Lowest price new I have seen on the internet so far is £540 for the cheapest version.

Thanks

Apple doesn't do sales. Maybe some resellers will have it with slight discount but usually the prices remain the same. Look at refurbs if you want to save money.

Would be great if I could get one for under £500, and would rather have one new than a refurb. I was looking at getting a desktop PC for around the same price but figured a Mac Mini would hold it's price better in the long run.

you appear to be in the UK. I maintain waiting for the next one is the thing to do. I feel this mini lacks cpu power and was a cosmetic upgrade over the 2009 mini. A 2011 mini should be much better. Just my opinion.

I can see your point but I kinda need one now as I've been using my friends laptop since mine broke and not having the freedom of my own computer is really annoying! :)

I doubt we will see any price drops, this time around from Apple. But like the others said, check out the refurbished store, it's basically like buying a new Apple product, just with different packaging. :) Plus you save lots of money.
