Hey everyone! Thanks for all your advice on the dual-layer Superdrive, I DO need that feature, but I'm not going to void my warranty, especially since this unit has AppleCare on it. I'm almost thinking of going for a MacBook Core 2 and selling my first gen 1.83 Core Duo Macbook Pro, it has a 100 GB HDD and 2x512 MB of RAM. Size is not an issue, in fact I take my laptop onto campus a lot so the 13 inch might actually be a plus (minus the fact I don't like the glossy screen thing and the resolution is lower). I also like the fact you can easily upgrade the HDD on the Macbook , something I think should NOT be lacking on a Pro model. I would be gaining a Core 2 over the regular Core Duo, but my only concern is the Intel GMA950 chipset. I sell laptops at Best Buy and a million of the laptops I sell have this chipset. I know it sucks for gaming, but I'm not really looking for that. I have ONLY been using OS X (funny that I sell PC's, right?) for the last 6-8 months, the only things I can think of that might even use the video card in the Macbook Pro would be video editing through iMovie. Is this true, or again, is this mostly processor based? Also, I do have a few full 1080i rips of some HDTV movies that I run from my DVI output on my MBP into my HDTV in full 1080i resolution and I have the digital optical out running into my surround sound system as well, I know the video part of this uses the video card, but would the Intel 950 along with the Core 2 be able to handle that (I know it does 1900x1200 in full mirroring mode) with no skips? Please offer any suggestions if you guys got em, I'm thinking long and hard on this one but it's not going to be easy!
