Hi,

I am thinking of upgrading to iOS 5 on my iPhone 4.

Some quick questions:

1) Will I lose my text messages? I will be backing up/syncing prior to upgrading the OS.

2) I don't plan to use iCloud, except to possibly sync music from computer to phone. Does it only OTA sync songs purchased from iTunes, or will any music in your iTunes library be stored in the cloud and appear on your iPhone?

TIA!

If you back up and then after upgrading, choose to take back everything from your last backup, your messages will be restored as well.

Yes, iCloud will allow you to sync your music purchased from iTunes throughout all of your devices. But it won't save stuff in the cloud unless you buy iTunes Match. It will only sync what you tell it to sync, when you tell it to sync.
iTunes match is only available in some countries as of now.

Thanks! Re: iCloud syncing music throughout devices, will it sync music NOT purchased from iTunes? ie: music downloaded/purchased from other sources but in the iTunes library?
