I'm needing space and memory as I only have 20gigs of HD space left from my internal 60gig MacBook and 512MB RAM is a bit sluggish at Photoshop CS2.

So I think that WD 250GB HD would be good or is it way too power hungry?
And RAM wise 1GB or 2GB Crucial memory.

Are there better options?

If you want to make your computer blazing fast (for photoshop at least) get the most ram you can afford, and then buy a good external hardrive.

I recommend a MyBook with firewire. You can get them decently cheap if you shop around and they really are very good.

Once you get it open your photoshop preferences and assign the mybook as the scratch disk.

I think that would really be the best option.

more ram+external hardrive.

I recently purchased a MacBook and I ended up chucking a Seagate 7200 RPM 160 GB HDD in it. As for RAM I grab 2 x 1 GB sticks of HP branded DDR2 RAM from work and it works perfectly fine in my Mac.

I didn't pay for any of this as I work for an IT reseller but this thing flies and I don't think the 7200 RPM drive has done anything to the battery life at all.

See, an external Hard drive might not do the Job for me... 'cos I usually use my Laptop on my lap and also travel quite a bit so I don't want to hunk a external Hard drive around. Although for when I am at home, I was thinking of buying an Airport Extreme to replace my s - l - o - w comtrend Wi-Fi router and because it has a NAS option I could Hook up a drive there that would be great for backup and other stuff.

I really advise you to get 120GB, you still have 20GB left, its not like you are bulging with the need for storage space. I dont even think i can fill up 120GB, i wish they sold 100GB 5400RPM

Holy crap! That means we can get 2GB of RAM for 50 bucks after rebate! And the RAM is made by Crucial which a lot of people swear by! Is it just me or is this deal friggin awesome?!?!
Yeah, it's a good deal. I even made a thread about it. But there is a limit on one per person for the rebate, so maybe give a friend the money and have them buy it and do the rebate...
