This is nothing more than a speculative topic which begs the question from the subject.

This may be comparing apples and oranges but how can Apple keep shrinking the sizes of their iMac and Macbook lines but still can't make the Mac Mini any thinner?

Just curious. I'm not a know it all of chipset designs and internal apple architecture, but I thought we would be seeing something resembling a Time Capsule by now.

The iMac's have gotten larger :). The MacBooks haven't gotten that much thinner, but in large part the unibody design really helped the placement of the battery. I'm sure they could get smaller to some degree, but heat is a common enemy - one has to way the risk.

My understanding was the Macbook is the same as it was before the recent update....iMac uses more desktop parts, plus its got more room in there as the screen size grows.

Could Apple make it smaller? Prolly...there just doesn't seem like that much a reason(sacrifices aren't worth the rewards it seems)

Yea that all makes sense. Maybe I'm just itching to see some sort of "reimagination" of the mini from Mr. Ives. :)

I mean the design has been about 5 years now isn't it?

Oh yes I've alreay forgotten the moment of transition. Well then it's missing the other popular Apple material...Glass! G4 Cube redux?
