MP 7,1 Third monitor problem 7,1

I have the AMD radeon pro 580 X 8gb graphics card in my Mac Pro 7,1.

2 x monitors already connected - one in one of the cdmi ports, the other is connected to one of the lightening ports on the back (DVI - lightening)

I plugged my third monitor in (display port to HDMI) into the other free cdmi slot but its not seeing it. I tried it in the other slot, no luck either.

Tried 'detect display' no joy.

Any ideas?

Bad cable?

kind of, the answer if anyone else has a similar problem, was the display port cable, I think anyway. Not so much a duff cable, it was more a case of the right cables in the right configuration. Got all three working now. 2 on HDMI and the other on a thunderbolt port.
