Just bought a third party silicon strap as a gift.

Noticed that the rubber around the hole you push the excess strap into is quite stretchy compared to the official apple bands. Is this pretty normal with third party straps? I dont want to gift a strap that'll end up breaking on someone and causing watch damage

I'm probably being a bit paranoid I guess 😀

Well, there are so many different third party manufacturers it's hard to give you a blanket answer to your question. If you are concerned about breakage I would recommend going with Apple's official silicone (not silicon, that's used to make the semiconductors in your phone) solo loop. Apple's bands are tested extensively to ensure quality and even if it does break it would most often be covered under warranty.

silicon, silicone, you know what I mean 😀

I think I'll gift it to them and just ask them to keep an eye on it.
