This ad showed up in my Instagram feed. Directly aimed at the Mac Pro.

The design just makes me wonder about what might have been in an alternate universe where Apple kept iterating the Cheesegraters instead of going minimalist.

This is great. I wish they mentioned CUDA/compatibility with useful GPUs. If more companies did this perhaps it'd light a fire under Apple's behind to get things moving.

I was hoping we'd at least get a little "wink wink don't worry" during the event today, but alas.

Sad thing is, despite their promises a year and a half ago, I still don't think they really, TRULY care. iPhones and iPads are 88% of their focus, 10% is bragging about metallurgy to save the planet, and the remaining 2% probably doesn't include a top-tier, "niche" product like Mac Pro. I really wish they'd spin off the Mac division or something. It wouldn't be so bad if they weren't the only game in town to get an official, supported Mac.

EDIT: Sorry, didn't give metallurgy enough credit.
