Bit of a strange one

I was setting up my just out of the box Apple iPad 2020 64GB WiFi (purchased from Currys UK, sealed box, all definetely brand new) and going through the setup wizard accidentally tapped 'create new Apple ID' (I already have one)

But I got the error 'This iPad has been sued to create too many new Apple IDs' which I found a bit strange with it having never been used!

Was it just the factory testing?

It's easy to shrink-wrap a box and there's no way people were creating Apple ID's from a particular iPad as part of device testing, so I would call Apple with this one. Is Currys an authorized Apple dealer?

Thanks, Currys is a huge UK retailer so I doubt they would be trying to pull a fast one! The seal was the original Apple 'pull tab' one and all contents inside were sealed as expected and untouched

Everything else seems to be fine, signed in with my Apple ID and warranty checked for a year from today so I might just see how I go, looks like the 'counter' for setting up the IDs resets yearly anyway so it should be fine if I come to resell it a few years down the line :)
