This is getting annoying.

Ok, so tried updating my iPhone and iPad and I cant get anywhere. I have both updates downloaded it just won't install. It literally says "backing up" for 3 hours before I finally cancel it. What should I do? This is what I am seeing on my end. And as you guys know the bar usually has the green thing that dances back and forth to show that its doing something. But there is no green bar at all. Just what you see here

try restarting your computer and devices and try again.

Excessive time to back up iPhone/iPad

I'm seeing the exessive back up time (or error) as well for both my iPhone 4 and iPad 2. I've even uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes a few times using these instructions:

QuickTime isnt installing, so that may be my problem.

Any other suggestions out there?
