All these "one touch dialer apps" that end up in the app store is STUPID. Not only did it become ridiculous when it was different family members or different icons, but now names!

I'm just glad that my app isn't in the Utilities category so it doesn't get drowned out by crap like that.

This reminds me of two things:

1. Those license plate keychains with names on them (that never have my name. I was always so disappointed as a kid).

2. And Cheech & Chong:

"Dave's not here man."

I was just about to post about the same thing. This is driving me nuts. Why can't apple get a better hold of what getting released on the appstore. Yeah, there's over 10,000 apps on the appstore now, but how many of those are utter dross like this, and how many are actually of any use to the majority?

I'm almost tempted to buy them all just to give them all 1-star ratings, and vent my fury a bit. Almost. ;)

I was also going to post about this. How on earth could this slip past Apple? A clear case of duplicate applications.

:D I'd buy it.

whats sad is that developer had to pay 99/year per app right?
Don't think so. It's $99 per year to be able to publish whatever you make I thought.

there is so much crap now that its becoming impossible to find quality apps. i dont even bother surfing for apps anymore. i just check the "featured" "whats hot" and "top 25"

that's exactly why small companies like us have a harder time but i can understand why :(

agreed.

What is apple playing at.

Also I saw there is another email your position app as if twenty existing ones aren't enough.

apple is devaluing the app store- its 99% garbage. As he said above I no longer look at apps just look at this forum for any news of good apps.

Maybe having Apple screen store entries was a good idea afterall? But alas, the loud minority of "web 2.0 elite" had to keep shouting until Apple had no other option but to allow pretty much any piece of junk into the store and ruin it for the rest of us...
