For everyone who recognized the title of my thread - I love that episode!
For anyone who didn't, its from an episode of the Simpsons.
Anyways, the reason for this post is basically this. Before buying my MBP, I did some poking around on these forums to find out what I should be looking for in regards to potential problems with them vs. Dell laptops and whatnot. What I found was that a lot of people were complaining about various topics (bottom 3rd yellowing, hissing noises, screen warpage, etc). This started to make me a little nervous.
Fortunately, logic prevailed. I figured that with the number of machines that Apple produced, there were bound to be some duds, and that these were likely in the minority. So I went ahead and ordered my MBP on Friday, just after the release of Leopard.
And that brings us to today. This morning, FedEx showed up at my office with a shiny new MBP (yes, that's right.. 2 business days, and it was in my hands, with normal shipping!). Powering it on, I found that everything was freakin' perfect!! No complaints whatsoever, except for having to get used to all the shortcuts/etc (this is my first
, so I'm still reaching for the Windows key sometimes).
So in summary, if you're reading this forum and are hesitant to buy because of the voices of the few (those that have had problems with varying degrees of legitimacy), then hesitate no longer! These machines are fantastic and the chances of getting a perfect one is pretty darn good!
Sorry for the long post, but I needed something to do while files were getting transferred across the network from my Windows computer to this one (which, might I add, was an incredibly simple process
)
