The argument for USB-C is forgetting your SD card in the Notebook?! Really!
Ok that´s a little bit simplified from my side but
I actually have more than one SD card. And I use them up.
With this logic you could argue that SD/memory cards in general should be integrated into cameras...

What a lame video, all of my camera to computer transfers from a usb wire have been painfully slow. Plus, what photographer doesn't have multiple SD cards - in case he forgets them. Also, in the years upon years of using SD cards, I never once broken one.

Seems like he's inventing problems for apple's "solution" of removing the sd card slow

It's like any idiot with a camera can make a YouTube video...

It's pretty hard to purposefully break an SD card. And you just don't forget SD cards, when I finish a job I remove the SD card from the camera and put it in a case. Before I use an SD card it gets formatted. It's a simple procedure that stops you accidentally overwriting work. Also transferring from the camera using a cable in a matter of seconds? I'd like to see that!

Wrong and ignorant. A) you could already plug usb cable into camera. B) usb-a or usb-mini a or usb-micro a is most likely usb 2.0, occasionally usb 3.0. Having usb-c (3.1) connection won't and can't be faster. The slowest port speed determines maximum connection speed. What a dufus.

But then again, what makes one think that SD as a standard is here to stay?
We've been already through several various card types in a relatively short time (was there ever a CF slot on any laptop?).
And ever increasing data rates & volumes will definitely keep this area changing also in the future.
Next wave of high bitrate cameras may well switch to XQD cards soon.

IMHO,To make this 2016 model thinner and lighter. The moustache logic board is designed to be much smaller than previous model and placed at the middle. To accomodate smaller form factor, the old usb ports are no longer be able to attach on it. and USB-C/TB3 port is much smaller than old gen one and easily mount on side body.

When Apple got rid of CD-ROM from computers - people called Apple crazy.
When Apple got rid of upgradeability of their computers - people called Apple crazy.
When Apple got rid of headphone jack from iPhone - people called Apple crazy.
When Apple got rid of USB-C - people call Apple crazy.

Just because of this, Apple is still the same Apple that was with Jobs as CEO.

think he meant if someone put the card on the desk instead of directly to camera after transfering ppl could forget it..

and its true these cards can be damaged by always plugging and unplugging.. i have fast and big sized SD cards as a professional photographer and dual slot in my camera, i never take them out because they cost alot (200 dollar) and my camera have usb 3 cable that transfer at same speed as the macbooks sd slot, alot easier and safer.
On the 2016 macbook i could just get a micro usb to usb-c cable for the camera or use the usb adapter.

With all due respect it almost looks like or it seems like he wants to be seen using the new MacBook pro at Starbucks.

By looking around oddly as he is sitting at that counter.

I don't own a camera.

I'm not mad at Apple for leaving out ports from the new MBP. I'm mad at the other manufacturers for not implementing great technology (USB-C) on the iPhone SE.
