Does anyone else have this annoying pop-up come every so often? I noticed it mostly occurring especially after quitting Safari, so it may be somehow related to Safari.

It's annoying because when clicking iCloud Preferences..., the pane looks perfectly normal (as in, nothing needs to be fixed or my password re-typed). It's been a bug with Yosemite since 10.10.0 (am on 10.10.1). I wasn't sure if I was the only one.

I've spoken with Apple Support about it, but they didn't really know anything. I also filed a bug report at bugreport.apple.com, but was wondering if any of you had experienced the same occasional pop-up, at random?

And, yes, I did a clean install of Yosemite initially (old PC habit), then an in-place install to try and resolve this (and a few other) issues, with no luck for this specific issue.

I get it occasionally, maybe once every 2-3 weeks. Best guess for me is that there's an occasional connectivity issue with Apple's iCloud servers.

In a van down by the river
I got the message yesterday, after I changed my Apple password. Even though I input the correct password, it didn't seem to go through. Later on in the evening, iMessage went down. This morning, I was finally able to input my iCloud password and everything is as it should be.

As the previous poster mentioned, maybe it is due to brief connectivity issues to the servers?

I have seen a few other members mention what you did, OP. I don't believe anyone has come up with a cause or a one-time remedy.
