I just got my MacBook Pro today, and had it sitting on my desk while playng around with it. After about 3 hours, I decide to pick it up and noticed how DAMN hot it was.

I'm worried because I plan on leaving the Macbook on for long periods of time and it sits on my nice desk and I don't want the wood to start warping /bubble under the MacBook Pro.

Anyone have a soluton to this. Is it suppose to get this hot?? I wasn't running any big apps only itunes and internet.. what gives.

Well how "HOT!!!" was it really? There are a few apps out there that can tell you that. Can you hear the fans running at high speeds?

You may just want to have Apple take a look at it. Other than that, my MBP gets pretty hot at times and it sits on a glass desk. The only time it does get really, really hot, is when I'm using intensive apps. Even then, it's not hot enough that I can't touch it.

Define hot. (post some temps using istat pro widget or something)

The outer casing of the MBP does get fairly warm since it's made out of aluminum. The aluminum transfers heat from inside of the case to the outside.

My MBP is running around 45ºC right now.
