It actually was.

Now when I see the email on my iPhone, I simply get the above message.

How does one "re-download" an email from the server?

I need the attachment. Thanks for any help.:(

connect and tap on something in the body of the message. see if that provokes anything?

If it is still on the server there should be an icon near the bottom of the message portion to download it. If it is no longer on the server you won't be able to get that message with your iPhone unless you resend it to yourself from where ever it is residing.

That is why I use gmail (I forward all my mail to gmail). It is always on the server.
