hey, needed to vent a here it is; my apple experience. bought a 1.8 mba... lovely. 3 months down the track had to return it for repair... the keyboard and trackpad had screwed up somehow;
computer returned; trackpad not fitted properly... i can fit a fingernail between the edge of trackpad and chassis. hmmmm!
took computer to closest town that had the same apple accredited rep (50 miles). when in town hoofed it in damn hot weather on hard cement (country blokes find it hard to walk on cement for too long) only to find the office of the apple representatives unattended and an apologetic receptionist. called the other office and basically said "what the hell?" and was told that despite two technicians in the same town as me on calls i was supposed to drop it into another town about another 20 miles away *dummy spat bigtime* i was doing hard time and on foot trying to fix what they'd not done properly in the first place! i look forward to my apple review of their service.
my god i hear you say... poor bastard!
ordered an iphone 4s... when the phone hadn't arrived on due date i rang apple (oh my god that's painful). was given the usual tracking #'s. with this # i ascertained that the trail ended and disappeared forever at melbourne, 100 miles from where i live. after a long period of inaction by everybody except me, a new phone was ordered, reason 1st lost in transit. 2 more weeks later still no phone... oh my god am i talking to apple again! promise to get it to you on this date blah blah blah! nothin happened again. apple eventually gave me a generous rebate cos of all the outrageous lacks of service but get this... i got the rebate b4 i saw the damn phone. 5 whole weeks from order to delivery... that is piss poor in anybody's language.
this bloke won't be taking another bite from the apple.

It does sound like you've been pretty hard done by! Unfortunately with every large retail corporation there will be instances like yours where somebody is treated badly.

I would suggest however that apple produces relatively fewer complaints than most other businesses that provide similar services. For every story such as yours there is one of complete satisfaction with apple's service. It sounds like you are also partially a victim because of the distance between your home and your nearest store. That is an inconvenience that is hard to fix.

Sounds like you had a run of extreme bad luck. Glad you finally got your iPhone and hope you are enjoying it.

Most people have good experiences, but your always going to get the people who's delivery went astray or a bad repair.. but not normally both together!

As above sounds like you've had a shot of bad luck. Dont forget there is the curier in the mix and they arent always the best so you could split the blame 50/50 etc...

thx, yeah i think i might attract bad luck lol. the new iphone... blluetooth doesn't work and it only charges sometimes. although i am impressed with apple products generally my experience has been a poor one.
going to melbourne next week to get both things fixed. i have spent an outrageous number of hours and incurred unwanted expenses chasing repairs for products i bought "because they just work" *sigh*
thanks for your replies :)

The thing is are any competitor products any better in your area - I think you are being unfair to Apple.

People walk in expecting Apple to be "perfect" because the fanboys (not calling anybody names here) over-glorify Apple ("It just works!""You'll never have any problems!") when realistically, you are going to run into problems.

Anyways, it seems like you ran in to some bad luck. Sorry about your issues. :(

really? unfair to apple!
i get a bodgy mba.... then the repair is bodgy and i have to travel 100 miles to melbourne to get it fixed.
1st iphone disappears forever. 2nd iphone lost in transit but found again and delivered very late after date. bluetooth doesn't work and the phone only intermittently charges. and i think siri has an intellectual disability.
i'm so very sorry apple. i'm a completely unreasonable man. fancy me expecting goods that work! :)
i was going to buy a samsung but because of unavailability (thx apple) i purchased the iphone. but i'm again eyeing the samsung after i check out the apple return policy.

regards.

Sounds pretty unfortunate. Lesson learned, right? Next time, buy elsewhere.

Anyone would be pissed off if all that happened to them. I kinda know how it feels cause I had a major issue with my first 4S so I had to get it replaced but there aren't any Apple stores where I live.

a heads up. whilst taking the mba to get repaired... i got them to take a look at my iphone. it is a hardware issue with the phone *sigh*. apple are now sending me #3 iphone and i'm tapping away on a dell cos my mba is 100 miles away being repaired. arrrrggggghhhhh!
further update; apple wanted me to send them the phone b4 they'd send a new one... as if it was my fault.
the result, i am now getting a refund and i will not be buying apple again. if i could get a refund on the mba i'd do so too.
