This or that: 575 vs 580 - $20?

If I had to choose I would:

  • Pick the i7/575.

    Votes: 1 4.5%

  • Pick the i7/580.

    Votes: 15 68.2%

  • The i7 is a overkill, go for the i5 and save the money.

Interesting pricing option. If I start with mid tier 27" and "upgrade to i7" and 512 SSD it comes out to $2489 (w/gov discount). If I start with the high tier with the same options it comes out to $2509. So essentially you get the 580 w/8GB for only $20. Sounds like a no-brainer. But, I do care about fan noise. Do you think the 580 will be a lot hotter/noisier? I am not a gamer.
