Switch your router security to mac filtering. It only allows machines that you designate to get onto your access point. It takes a little setting up, but its more secure, and you dont have to worry about passwords etc.

Every newer router has it, check the instructions for setup.

Or switch your router to WPA2 which is farrr farrrrr superior to the easily crackable WEP.

Really ... show me a WEP signal, I can have it cracked in 45 seconds.

nope. mac filtering is very easily spoofed and isn't really a security/encryption method. wpa2 is very secure especially if the user chooses a long password.

a good way to think about it: mac address filtering is like the simple lock on your door, a lock pick, bump key, even a simple credit card could circumvent the barrier. wpa2 actually encrypts your network data. so if the attacker got through the door and got to your valuable "stuff" it would just look like gibberish.

mac address filtering offers an additional, but relatively easy to crack security feature. now your everday user would be stumped by mac filtering so it's great for preventing casual attempts to logon to your network, but even the worst script kiddie can download software to spoof addresses.

List the 6. Some routers call different methods different things.

Most of the time there's WPA2 "Personal" and "Enterprise" ... I usually choose personal because enterprise takes more time to set up.
