My OnePlus One is being ordered (finally!) and I've heard some people say that they use their phablets as tablet replacements. Do you?

Yes, but I consider my tablet also my "real" computer. It's a surface Pro 3, but it's usually left at home unless I have long trips, or I'm at a seminar/conference, etc. I would never own a dumb tablet as it seems kind of redundant.

Having a phablet, especially one with a pen like the Note 3 really relieves me of the need to have a tablet 99% of the time.

I always wanted an iPad but that urge kind of faded away when I got my Note 2 over a year ago. Now I do have to get an iPad but that is only for specific purposes that have to do with my job (reading sheet music at 100% magnification). As far as casual/entertainment use goes, I would still have got along fine with just the Note 2 + my MBP.

I have a iP6+, OPO, and a iPad mini Retina... Long story short, I won't be keeping both iOS devices, just not sure which one I'm going to get rid of.

Phablets are great when travelling as they can be carried in a pocket. But the larger screen on tablets make easier viewing when at home so you need both.

You also need a laptop for those times when phablet/tablet is not good enough.

I'm the opposite; I use my tablet as a phablet replacement. I might have gotten a phablet by now, but with my retina mini ipad going everywhere with me, I haven't felt the need for one.

Do you carry a phone as well as the ipad mini for making phone calls?

I mainly use apps on my note 3 like facebook, tapatalk, twitter, sports apps and news.

all the forums I post on I use tapatalk but on my tablets I will use it in the web browser for example.

Yes, I have the iPad Air for Videos when at LA Fitness and Safari around the house.

Tablet is redundant to me. I used my note3 for almost anything.

For things that can't be done on my note3 a tablet wouldn't be able to do the job either. For those I use my pc.

Tablet to me is neither here or there.

Yes, a Nexus 7.

It used to be more useful when I had the Nexus 5. Now, with the huge OnePlus One I only use it for my school books.

My 1520 is great for most stuff when on the go, but use my SP3 still as a tablet at home. The only thing that has been replaced is my laptop. SP3 handles all of my tablet and laptop needs at home and at work. Especially awesome when I travel.

Battery life is reason enough to own a tablet. If I am at home on the couch, I would prefer to use a tablet and save the battery life on my phone. The only exception to this is the note line. I am easily able to surf the web all day and still get through a day. The one+1 may work the same way.

Pretty much this. It really depends on your usage patterns and which phablet you have.

Well at the moment I'm using the S5 which is not a phablet along with the nexus 7 2013 and Galaxy tab pro 10.1. However when I had the note 3 I still used an ipad mini and iPad air. I intend to carry on using my Tablets when I get the note 4.

Yes

Yes. Phablets are great, but IMO they aren't not as easy to use as a full size tablet.

I spent two years happily using a Note/Note 2, but as soon as I got an iPad the phone felt redundant and an iPhone 5s took its place. Now that my tablet is a fairly big Surface Pro 3, my next phone will probably be a phablet once again.

tablets are still much larger than phablets (when we are not talking about small tablets), so no... its not replacing it. also my tablet is Note 10.1 and my phone lacks of functionalities that my tablet has...

I do, but only because I need to be able to make and receive calls. I've thought about experimenting, using google to do phone calls on the iPad mini. If it worked reliably, that would give me one less device to carry around.

Well I would've used my iPad Air more if it would have more RAM so that I could actually do some productive stuff on it. However, I find my Note 3 much better to use when I want to get things done. But I use my iPad almost everyday for some couch surfing. The larger screen is nice.

Just got a 6 Plus and it's definitely not replacing my iPad any time soon. The iPad is just better for web browsing and it fits in my purse.
