As a fan of smaller phones, I've only used the 4.7" and 5.4" iPhones. I've previously tried larger screen devices (XS, 12 Pro) but always find them cumbersome to have on me - the size/bulk and weight. I currently have a 13 mini which feels the perfect weight and size.

However, with no 14 mini on the horizon, if I want the latest non-TouchID device I'm going to have to move up to a larger phone.

I don't like wearing baggy clothes with big pockets, I normally wear slimmer fitting pants/jeans/shorts and each time I tried putting the 12 Pro in my pocket it either stuck out a little (and I was concerned about it falling out), or was so tight in my pocket. This was obviously even worse when sitting and I don't want to have to keep taking it out each time I sit down.

I really like the screen size and premium feel of the 12/13 Pro but it's just not practical for me and I'd like to know how others get on with it.

So - for those that wear slimmer fitting clothing - how the hell do you live with a 12/13 Pro or bigger device?

Please no suggestions like "get a holster/belt clip", or "get a bag".

Thanks

Use a slim hardshell case, keep in your back pocket. Millions of women (and men) do this and take it out when they sit down, including size 0 ones.

I am in the same boat so I only really use small phones. My iPhone 8 was fine though and I don’t think it’ll be much smaller than the regular 14. It’s one of the reasons I would never consider a Max sized phone.

That's just inviting pickpockets though right? I know people will say it's never happened to them but I know a couple of people that had theirs stolen this way.

I don't wear slim jeans, but I when going from a 5s to a 6s Plus, I had a lot of problems with the size, including pockets.

When I started shopping for clothing to accommodate my phone size, I moment where I realized maybe my phone was too large.

The larger phone was the problem, not everything else, such as my pants, jackets, cars, etc.

I sold my 6s Plus and got a SE1, which I used until a few months ago when I got a 13 Mini.

Too obvious?

Getting a bag is how a lot of people deal with larger phones.

I'm a guy and don't want to buy a bag just for the sake of carrying a phone, it's solving one 'bulk' issue by carrying an even bulkier item.

I know I'm limiting things here, I just don't understand how most people carry larger phones like the 12/13 Pro, let alone the Pro Max(!).

For those who do put theirs in their front pockets, I'm wondering if they only buy baggier pants/jeans/shorts just to accommodate their phones..?

Thinking I'm just going to have to stick with the 13 mini for a few years and hope Apple bring out another smaller form factor phone....but the 12/13 Pro is so much more appealing.

I get it. I was in the same boat with the 6s Plus.

You can start buying clothes to accommodate a giant phone, or rethink the larger phone.

I had a huge problem with 6s Plus in my older cars. One of them, I had to keep the phone on the passenger side seat, and sometimes going around a turn, the phone would go flying.

My favorite coat, I like to keep my phone in the right breast pocket, I would place it in there the most natural way for me after using my phone, the front toward me, and with it being upright in the pocket.

My original iPhone, and then my 4s, I was able to keep in the pocket, button it close, and have enough room to have my headphones plugged in with the pocket closed. I was able to do the same with my 5s, but the phone would have to be upside down, and it was a tight fit.

My 6s Plus on the other hand, no way. It would stick out of the pocket, with the camera pointing out in front of me. I often would get asked if I was recording video when people saw it.

When I started shopping for a new coat and I was testing to pockets to see if my phone would fit, I knew that I had to get smaller phone.

BTW, I still own my favorite coat, it is pretty worn down, but I love it. My iPhone 13 Mini does with in the pocket and can close, but I cannot use the headphones while the pocket it buttoned due to having to use the lighting port for the headphones, and my pocket won't close.

I have used the iPhone 7, XS, 12 Pro on slimmer jeans/pants and use the front pocket of my jeans. All my devices have had to Apple silicone cases on them and I haven't had issues.
