It's a good foundation for growth. It's a "first release" and a beta at that - I feel it's a bit better than where LR was when they released several years back. They've done a fair amount of thinking on UI experience and it shows in a very positive way (rough around the edges of course). A field workflow for me is to use an iOS/iPadOS app called Cascable to control the camera, get critical focus and import the raw file. That's then available to me in Capture One (iPad) to rate, apply a style if I want, etc. Obviously, direct tethering would be nice and all of that. It's nice to do some work with Apple Pencil. But there's a ways to go (layers, makes, etc).

Agreed, it's surprisingly good for a first beta - an extremely promising start.
Hoping that selective editing and healing is added sooner rather than later.

And for me, the big one, sessions and editing from external hard drive support. Just to be able to create a session and start editing and then plug the drive into my mac and continue exactly where I left off is THE dream with regards to C1 on the iPad.

I'm not unhappy with it so far though.

The impression I have just from reading bits and pieces about it, is that it requires an internet connection to move images / catalogs between a computer, and an iPad sitting next to each other.

I hope I'm wrong about that, and that Wifi / wire sync is there / part of the roadmap.
