Anyone think this is a possibility? I am hoping for it but dont think it will happen. Either way I am getting a new iMac with the next refresh. Anyone else patiently (HAHHAH) waiting?

I've noticed Apple doesn't like to make many case changes. And it would also mean changing the cinema display to match, and I don't see that happening. However, I am hoping for a re-release of the 24" iMac (it would likely be 16:9 instead of 16:10)

I never understood why they moved away from the 24. 21 is too small nowadays. I love the 27 but would definitely by a 30.

24" and a 30" would be nice albeit unlikely as Apple just changed to a 21" and 27". I'd like to see some cosmetic changes as well as better speakers. After all this is Apple and the name Apple stands for quality.

Well, intresting is

< so far i know >

The Dell U2711 is the same panel al the iMac 27"

Late 2010 Dell introduced a 30" panel, the U3011. 1 + 1 ??

Off topic- Your drawings are fantastic.

I'd love and am really hoping a 30" will be released. with rear ambient light too. Like the philips tv's have. Or a 27" but 4 K display (although I think the latter is veering into dreamland).

hell yea im waiting for the new imacs .. but i will buy it with lion preinstalled in june or july or whenever they start shipping with lion preinstalled .......... woop woop

30 inch is definitely far to small to replace most peoples tv's at home , so a 50 inch would be much better so people could sit on the couch for gaming without needing opera glasses
and getting rid of that ancient technology called IPS and finally some "Blue Phase Mode"( Blue Phase mode features a superior response speed in the range of 10 - 100 microseconds) panels would be nice too for the gamers
and as blue phase mode LC displays are less sensitive for mechanical pressure and withstand higher temperatures
and are cheaper to produce, apple could get rid of the glossy glass again
i mean most PC manufacturers have ips displays in their range so a certain sign of this technology to be on its last legs and time for apple to look in the future again

I was planning on purchasing a 27" refreshed model, but if Apple were to release a 30" model for a few hundred dollars more, I may consider it. Even more so if they opted to go the 16x10 (2560x1600) route.

It would actually save me $1500 as I was eyeing a Dell U3011 as an alternate display for my gaming PC (for games that don't play nice with Eyefinity).

I've been waiting for years for a 30" iMac, and have money in hand for when they finally release one. It would be perfect for serving double duty as both a computer and a TV.

Have to agree that some extras would be nice on the refresh model. After all Apple is the only Computer Mftr not offering an HDMI connection. ambient light useful and would be appreciated. How about a rotating stand so that Mac can be turned. This would really be useful as some of us work multi desk stations.

I would soil myself in excitement if they put out a 30". But I am fine with 27", it is plenty big enough.
