Thoughts & value on 2010 12 core 2.4Ghz

As the title says......is it worth buying?

Cannot determine value or if it is worth buying without knowing the price, or knowing what you need it for.

Also, according to Everymac.com, there is no such thing as a 2010 12 core 2.4GHz. This makes me wonder about its history.

Assuming that information is correct, then "May 2011" rules out a 2012 model and a flashed 2009 model. So this must be a 2010 5,1 where someone changed the CPUs or is listing something incorrectly. There is a 2010 2.4GHz 8-core.

It's a big assumption though. I've used those sites on my own Mac serial numbers, and found that they are not too accurate.

There are some red flags here, but nothing too worrisome if you can check it out in person. In any case, $500 for a dual-CPU 5,1 seems pretty darn good to me.

That's what I thought it was ( 8 core, not 12 ) as I couldn't find any info on the 2010 "12 core". But I did think that all of the 2010 5,1 ran the 1333 memory as as opposed to 1066. Btw, the SMC version & processor tray is 1.39F11

5,1 all come with 1333 memory, but were listed as having 1066. The actual speed it ran at depended on which processor you had.
