This prooves what we have been saying that even the 3G operators aren't making money out of 3G services as people aren't paying to use them. I have a 3G (Thee phone) but have never used any 3 G service such as video calls (waste of time ) or the internet- too expensive and its unuseable on any non iphone phone (not that I have tried an iphone mind but I understand its as good as a computer)
If I was any carrier I would gladly pay apple their royalties to get the iphone. Even after paying apple what they want they would still end up ahead.
"Hutchison is still paying a high price to attract consumers to use its network - $276 per customer - as competitors such as Optus and Telstra intensify their efforts to win market share. Average revenue per user fell by a little more than 6 per cent to $69."
So they are loosing $200 per customer!! No even Apple would want this much- It a no brainer. Whoever has the iphone even on supposedly obsolete 2.5G , is going to win.
